Enhancing Workplace Wellbeing with Live Planting.
WPP’s new global health and wellness marketing and communications company has been created with the mission to harness WPP’s power to deliver superior partnerships and communications services to clients across all health industries. Working from a large office in Central London, they have a keen understanding of the need for a healthy workplace.

When designing our new working environment, which we describe as a Wellness Lab™, our review of evidence led us to consider planting as an important and integral part of the design. Plant Designs made this feel very easy for us.David
WPP were looking for a company that could supply and maintain interior planting over two floors at their London office. With the company’s focus on health and wellbeing, they were eager to introduce the benefits of biophilia to their space.

Focusing heavily on organic shapes and textures, we created a planting scheme made up of floor standing plants and grouped planting displays. We worked closely on our floor plans to ensure we created a strong visual impact in each space while also keeping it functional for use.
The pots and planting were chosen to complement the interiors across both floors, using species that would thrive in the light levels in those chosen areas. Using a selection of textured pots and soft, broad leaved planting, the floor standing plants and grouped planting displays were designed to feel inviting and organic. To add visual interest we introduced planting at different sight lines, with built-in cabinet planters and shelving with trailing plants creating higher tiers of greenery. In total we provided 150 plants including a wide range of Philodendrons, Alocasia portadoras, Strelitizia nicolais, Ficus lyratas, Beaucarnea recurvatas, and Areca palms.
Additional hanging plants were added a short while after the initial install, completely enclosing the space in an abundance of green. We used a wide range of trailing plants with contrasting textures to create a very organic and overgrown feel.

The impact of our new planting has been significant, and we continue to work with closely Plant Designs to help spread awareness of the importance of biophilia at work and beyond.David
